3 Easy Steps for Obtaining Warranty Service:

  • Step 1. Call Sunnect at 1-877-DOORLOK (1-877-366-7565) or file a Service Request Form online to start a case.
  • Step 2. After an initial diagnosis over the phone, obtain a service case number.
  • Step 3. Send the old lock to Sunnect with the service case number and a copy of the receipt.

Your lock will be returned to you repaired or replaced or you will be contacted for a refund.

Cost of Shipping

You are responsible for the cost of shipping the old lock to Sunnect, but Sunnect will ship the repaired or replaced lock free of charge to you, via Ground shipping, with Express shipping available for additional charge, within the 48 contiguous states.

What Sunnect will do: Upon return of the defective Product, along with a valid receipt, to Sunnect, Sunnect’s sole obligation, at its option, is to repair or replace the Product, or refund the original purchase price in exchange for the Product. The replacement Product or part(s) will be new or rebuilt at our option.

Original User: This warranty only applies to the Original User of the Product. This warranty is not transferable.

Valid Receipt: In order to receive warranty coverage, the Original User must submit a copy of a valid receipt showing the purchase date, price and location (store name, city, state).

Serial Number: A Product must have a clearly-visible serial number, found on the inside of the battery compartment cover, in order for it to be covered under this Warranty. Any Product sent to Sunnect without a clearly-visible serial number will be returned to the sender at the sender’s expense.

Shipping Costs: You are responsible for the cost of shipping the old lock to Sunnect, but Sunnect will ship the repaired or replaced lock free of charge to you, via Ground shipping, with Express shipping available for additional charge, within the 48 contiguous states. For destinations outside the 48 contiguous states, you will be responsible for the cost of shipping the repaired or replaced lock.

When the warranty period begins and ends: This warranty coverage commences on the date of purchase by the Original User and expires two (2) years from the original purchase date.

What is not covered: The following costs, expenses and damages are not covered by the provisions of this limited Warranty: (i) labor costs including, but not limited to, such costs as the removal and reinstallation of Product; (in) shipping and freight expenses required to return Product to Sunnect; and (iii) any other incidental, consequential, indirect, special and/or punitive damages, whether based on contract, warranty, tort (including, but not limited to, strict liability or negligence), patent infringement, or otherwise, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Some local laws do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above exclusion or limitation may not apply to you.

The provisions of this warranty do not apply to Products: (i) used in commercial applications; (ii) used in common area applications; (iii) used for purposes for which they are not designed or intended; (iv) which have been subjected to alteration, abuse, misuse, negligence or accident; (v) which have been improperly stored, installed, maintained or operated; (vi) which have been used in violation of written instructions provided by Sunnect; (vii) which have been subjected to improper temperature, humidity or other environmental conditions; or (viii) which, based on Sunnect’s examination, do not disclose to Sunnect’s satisfaction non-conformance to the warranty. Additionally, this warranty does not cover scratches, abrasions, or deterioration of the Product’s finish.

Additional terms: Sunnect does not authorize any person to create for it any obligation or liability in connection with the Product. Sunnect’s maximum liability here under is limited to the original purchase price of the Product. No action arising out of any claimed breach of this warranty by Sunnect may be brought by the Original User more than one (1) year after the cause of action has arisen.

Standard residential door preparations: Sunnect products are designed to fit standard residential door preparations. During the initial installation, if there is a problem with the Product’s performance, the Original User may simply contact Sunnect Customer Service at 1-877-DOORLOK (1-877-366-7565) for assistance.

Warranty claims: If you encounter a residential door preparation or fit issue or have a claim under this warranty, please contact Sunnect Customer Service for repair, replacement or refund of the original purchase price in exchange for the return of the Product to Sunnect.

Express Option

For those customers whose lock is clearly malfunctioning due to a defect in material or workmanship and need a replacement lock as soon as possible for security reasons, we offer the Express Option. To use the Express Option, you will need a valid credit card.

This Express Option is not available in cases where a Sunnect technician determines that the case requires further investigation before ascertaining warranty coverage. In such a case, the Original User would be required to send in the old lock first in order to receive warranty coverage.

With the Express Option, we will ship a replacement lock to you immediately upon diagnosis without requiring you to send in the old lock first. Once we ship the replacement lock to you, you will have 2 weeks to replace the old lock with the replacement lock and return the old lock to Sunnect.

Once you return the old lock in 2 weeks and Sunnect verifies that the old lock qualifies for coverage for warranty service, you keep the replacement lock and we keep the old lock, case closed.

If you do not return the old lock in 2 weeks or if Sunnect, at its sole discretion, determines that the old lock does not qualify for coverage due to abuse, misuse, accident, lack of a defect (“no problem found”), or lack of a valid receipt showing the purchase date, price and location, then a full retail price of a new lock plus shipping and handling costs will be charged to your credit card. The exact amount will be available at the time of service. In such a case, we will return the old lock to you at your expense if you make a request within 2 weeks after we inform you of our decision. We will use a shipping method of your choice as long as it provides for tracking and signature collection.
