 Constructed Tough
Comprising mostly metal, and weighing a sturdy six pounds, the AP501 has an exterior compartment with three main components that withstand even the extreme pressure of hammering. Additionally, metal and hard rubber parts support the Tag Key sensor, temporary power terminal, and the keypad to protect the circuitry and prevent unauthorized entry--even if these components are smashed.
For added peace of mind, the one-inch throwbolt is fortified with a five-millimeter-thick carbon core that resists sawing; the battery compartment cover is screwed closed so the batteries won't fall out if the door is slammed shut; and all the vital parts of the lock--the CPU, batteries, motor, latch control mechanism, etc.--are located in the interior unit on the secure side of the door and protected by a heavy-duty interior mounting plate that blocks access. Finally, the bypass circuitry feature protects the PCB in case of a high-voltage surge of power and ensures that the door remains secured.
 Weather Tough
Tested to function properly in the most harshest of weather. Withstanding tempatures of -35 to +130 fahrenheit. Waterproof to repell rain and divert moisture from the unit. Although waterproof, any moisture that still enters the exterior unit or from condensation is allowed to flow down through the weep holes. The weep holes are partially blocked by the mounting plate to prevent abuse.
 Vandal Tough
The AP501 has eliminated the conventional keyhole, thus preventing lock-picking, key bumping, or keyhole vandalism with sand, gum, or glue. In short, this offers effective prevention to almost any break-in situation. If the door is forced open without a valid Tag Key or a passcode, the AP501 sounds an intruder alarm, another effective deterrent to potential intruders.
 Easy to Install
Replaces most deadbolt door locks on the market today with no extra drilling. Requires only a screwdriver if replacing existing deadbolt. The AP501 keyless entry lock uses a standard 2 1/8 inch hole door prep. With outstanding customer support the AP501 is easy to install and ready to secure your home or business today. Why the AP501 keyless entry lock?
Once in your hand you will find that the AP501 is built with style, durability, and quality. It is unlike any other digital keyless electric deadbolt on the market today. These are just some of the features and functions that make the AP501 the only choice when it comes to security for you family and home.
- Bump proof and pick proof - protects against lock-picking or vandalism (sand, gum, glue, etc.) by eliminating the conventional keyhole.
- Designed to withstand kicking, sawing, hammering, and prying.
- Lost or stolen Tag Keys, which cannot be duplicated, can easily be deleted from the keyless door lock, immediately rendering the missing keys useless.
- Convenient keyless entry using a passcode that can be 3 to 20 digits.
- Auto lock feature that automatically locks your door when it is closed. It can be turned off during times of high traffic through the door.
- Matches the beauty of your home with 3 most popular finishes.
- The three main components of the exterior unit are designed to withstand hammering. The Tag Key sensor, temporary power terminal, and the keypad are supported by metal or hard-rubber parts so that any impact on them is born by a 2.5-mm thick metal mounting plate as well as the door surface, thus protecting the circuitry in the exterior unit. Smashing any of these components will not automatically yield access to the intruder.
- The exterior mounting plate blocks access to the deadbolt latch even if the exterior unit is broken off thus preventing the intruder from unlocking the deadbolt. Most conventional deadbolt locks would immediately expose the deadbolt latch if the exterior unit is broken off, allowing the intruder to manually retract the latch and gain access.
- The 1-inch throwbolt is fortified with a 5-mm thick carbon rod that resists sawing.
- The opening between the exterior unit and the interior unit (through which the connection cable passes) is small and covered so that hot or cold air from the outside is not allowed to enter the interior unit thus minimizing condensation.
- Although water-proof, any moisture that still enters the exterior unit or from condensation is allowed to flow down through the weep holes. The weep holes are partially blocked by the mounting plate to prevent abuse.
- On the interior unit, of the digital door locks the battery compartment cover is fastened with a screw so that the batteries do not accidentally fall out if the door is slammed shut. It also has rubber pads to secure the batteries in place.
- The manual override button directly operates the latch. It has no intervening parts other than a directly-connected rotary bar made of metal, so that just about under all circumstances you will be able to open the door lock from the inside.
- The vital parts of the digital lock such as the CPU, PCB, batteries, motor, deadbolt latch drive mechanism, etc., are located in the interior unit on the secure side of the door and are further protected by a heavy-duty interior mounting plate that disallows any access to the vital parts.
- The AP501 has a bypass circuitry that protects the PCB in case of a high-voltage attack so that the unit remains locked.
